Humanity under attack

This work represents an iconography of the concept of humanity as Saint Sebastian, who appears to be suffering, bound by ropes and pierced by numerous arrows, with a sad but proud gaze looking straight at the viewer. The figure is surrounded by an apocalyptic context in which various unidentified flying objects move with the classic shapes depicted in the historiography of the paranormal. In this case, UFOs are a symbol of what humanity has been facing and enduring for count less decades: the spread of news and superstitions that generate a magnificent world capable of astonishing, amazing and intimidating countless people. This work aims to highlight the superstitious turn of human beings with regard to invented or misinterpreted stories about unidentified flying objects, creating enormous misun derstandings that give rise to fake news, which has now penetrated the social fabric and become part of Western culture. The light of intellect and logic is overwhelmed by the greyness of the superstitious and supersti tious realm of the unconscious part of human beings. Logic is about to be overwhelmed by superstition, which seems to predominate nowadays.
